Please remember to **never wear skates that are too big** . This can cause problems with your feet. Bumps and the like can occur if the foot is not firmly attached to the skate. A skate should be as tight as possible on your feet. For players who are still growing, you clearly need to have some wiggle room in your hockey skates, **max 1.5 cm allowance** is okay.

Make sure you sharpen your skates before you go out on them. You need to have a profile (radius/area) on your skates to get the most out of your skating. There are lots of different profiles to choose from. If you are a new skier, a single profile is recommended, which is a bit flatter, it gives more support in the ice and better stability. If you’ve been playing for a while, try a profile that’s a little more curved. It helps with steep turns and twists in the slope. More advanced players may want to try a Chest & Arm profile to raise their score even further.
